I have a new 240 gb sandisk SSD plugged into SATA 0 on my motherboard and it is showing up properly on the BIOS controllers. BUT When I get to the part of the install where it asks "Where do you want to install Windows?" there is a message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk."
I clicked "Show Details" and it says "'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
Now, i have it set to AHCI and controllers+smart is enabled. I went through my mobo manual and it doesnt say what sata ports are defaults so i assumed 0 was and on the BIOS it is the first controller listed....maybe i was correct?
I made a partition and formatted the SSD via windows 7 install, still no luck. Im booting from a USB. let me know if the USB could be affecting it.
I read a bunch of threads and this is why ive tried so far.no luck. maybe someone can direct me to the default SATA port.
Note: its a new PC i just built. Heres the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/skyyy/saved/m2GdnQ
Halp please?
