In my bedroom i have two pc's. I have my main pc and a spare one that i fashioned from spare parts, although the spare pc doesnt have ram or a hard drive in it.
Today, my friend brought his ram and hard drive round in attempt to use my spare pc to play some games. After installing the hardware, it booted, then came up with the option to launch startup repair or start windows normally. By clicking start windows normally it brings up the windows logo and says starting windows, then suddenly restarts and brings up the same message. And by clicking launch startup repair it only scans then prompts me to restart and brings up the message . i beleive the term is infinite loop.
Anyway i am baffled and would like to know if there are any solutions and if it is a hardware or software problem
thanks

what it is most times is that windows installed the drivers for your friend motherboard. then when he pulled his drive and did not do a clean install of windows. on your mb it has diffrent chipset or hardware causing the boot loop. if you can get into windows using f8 safe mode. remove all the devices under windows device manager and reboot. if you can get into windows and it installs the right drivers then he should be able to play. if not check to see if the sata chipset needs to be changed. on older rigs the drive may be running in ide mode not achi mode.
