Windows 7 install freezes at "Completing installation..."

Seems to be a common problem with the number of forum threads I've looked through over the last few months since this issue started happening.

My PC began acting funny 3 months or so ago, so I decided to format my HDD and do a fresh install of Windows.

I completely wiped my HDD and went to reinstall and this happens every time. I restart my PC and if gives me an error message and wants to restart, over and over. I go into diskpart and clean the disk, restart PC and try to install and it freezes at the "Completing installation..." every time. AHCI is on in the BIOs, nothing is plugged in besides the power supply and the Monitor after I select Install. I tried unplugging my SSD and installing to my WD Black. I tried using a USB-PS2 dongle and having my keyboard plugged in during the install and bringing up the shift+f10 menu, but it freezes while the menu is up at that same place on the install. I've tried dozens of other things over the months, but no luck.

I've looked through and tried pretty much everything I can find and nothing helps so far. MS tech support is beyond useless. They tried telling me I needed to buy a new copy of Windows with broken English. Literally a 5 minute phone call but still a complete waste of time.

Hardware specs are:

Mobo - XFX 750i
CPU - Core 2 Quad 9550
GPU - Sapphire HD6850
Ram - Patriot 12GB
HDD1 - WD Green 750gb
HDD2 - WD Black 1.5TB
SSD - OCZ Agility3 128GB

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
I fixed this it seems.

I downloaded my mobos SATA controller drivers from XFX's website and put them on a usb drive, then installed them before installing windows.

Im not sure if this is what fixed it as I also removed my sound card and changed the boot order to remove the Nvidia boot agent from the list.

Either way. I'm using my PC now instead of my laptop. From what I've read, freezing at 'completing installation...' is a common error and can be caused by a lot of different problems. Best thing to do is get your system as basic as possible by removing as much hardware as you can, then start from there.

Thank you so much! I loaded the AHCI drivers for my SATA3 SSD hard drive and Windows 7 64 bit installed perfectly as it should have.

Thanks again...this had me pulling my hair out for a bit.
