windows 7 installtion problem

Hai,
In my computer locad disk C,D,E are there, in D disk and E disk my valuble data is there. I formated C drive and trying to install windows 7 it was showed windows cannot be installed to this disk the selected disk is of the gpt partition style.... how can i install windows 7 please help me,

be careful. are C, D, and E actually separate PHYSICAL drives, or are they just partitions on the ONE drive? if they are just partitions to make it seem like you have more drives than you really do, then DO NOT mess around with the GPT/MBR stuff just yet. check what you PHYSICALLY have, and if they are separate drives then unplug them to be safe. if it's just one drive, make backups first.

If your data is valuable as you say, why isn't backed up? Losing your data because of a drive mess up or failure should be the least of your worries...

If the drive is GPT the odds are windows was installed in UEFI mode and you should reinstall windows in the same mode.
