I am planning on installing windows on a new ssd I just ordered and I was getting the ISO from the digital river downloads and everytime I tried to download it, it would finish without downloading all of the ISO. I tried a download manager to get it and it completed the download but when I tried to burn the ISO onto a usb, it would not work. I don't know what to do at this point and am up for any suggestions.

I am trying to get windows 7 ultimate 64 bit ISO btw.

Any help would be great.

That was what I was trying to mean. I have tried using Rufus, Pendrive, and ISO to USB but I could not get that to work so I'm guessing its a problem with the ISO.

Yeah, I'm sure that I want to use the Ultimate version. I already have a key for it.

No, I do not have an optical drive, but I think the issue here is the iso that I have been trying to download since I have had so many issues trying to get it.

I just need to know where to get a proper iso because digital river's iso will quit randomly through the download

I have always downloaded the .ISO from where you got yours: http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/
Never had a fail yet. And I have done it several times. That is the only place they are legal from. I'd try again. You might have had an interuption in transmission that corrupted the file.

What format did you use when formatting the USB thumbdrive ? IIRC it has to be formatted as FAT32 not NTFS in order to use it for the bootable iso creation.

Also which iso did you download ? IF having problems with the Ultimate .iso - try using a different version and then when it is created go in and delete or rename the ei.cfg file (this is the file that tells the installer which version of win 7 to install and if you delete/rename it the installer will instead put up a selection screen where you select what version to install ( All of the isos are exactly the same with the ei.cfg file being the only difference so any version iso will work to install any version if you delete the ei.cfg file from the iso.
