windows 7 key not working

hello and thank you to everyone who reads. would love to hear everyone's opinions.

once upon a time i purchased all the parts i need for a working pc including windows 7 instal cd. i built the pc and installed windows 7. used the provided product key and no problem what so ever. fast forward two years and i decided to build a second pc. i used the old hard drive in the new pc and brought another hdd for the old pc. on the old pc i installed windows using the cd i had purchased the first time used the product key and had no problem. and for my new pc with the old hard drive i purchased another product key because obviously the old key wont work on 2 pc`s the same time. so i input the new product key in my new pc and it gives me error code 0xC004C008. now have i brought a false key or are microsoft a bunch are anuses ?

oh and i brought the key for £20 from kingquin.net was told they`re pritty legit and i have their insurance on it.

From where did you buy the second product key? Does the product key match the version of Windows you are trying to activate?

kingquin.net and im useing win 7 home prem and thats what the key is supposidly for .. :/

Sorry, but sources like kingquin sell bogus keys all the time. You need to contact them about the issue. This is not a Microsoft problem.

This is exactly why I don't recommend these types of sources to purchase licenses/product keys. If the price is too good to be true, it often turns out exactly that way.

You are very welcome. Since you have the insurance, they should issue you another product key. Don't be shocked if it mysteriously goes bad (requires re-activation) in the future though.

i looked at the kingquin support page and they said they wanted a screenshot of a chat with microsoft support with them saying its an invalid key. so i contacted microsoft support and he somehow managed to activate the key on my pc so its now working fine

Wow and wow. So, kingquin passed you to MS and MS did assist. I am surprised by both, one good surprise (MS) and the other bad (but not unexpected). Glad you sorted it out. Good luck.
