Hello,

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit desktop with an ASUS M4A87TD EVO motherboard. Recently, I have this problem with my wired Saitek Eclipse PZ30AU keyboard: when I type, the typed key does not appear on the screen. In other words, the keys are unresponsive. The keyboard is illuminated, whether the desktop is turned on/off. Although, back then, when it was working, the light is always turned off whenever the desktop is turned off. I don't know why it's lighted even though the desktop is off.

I tried using a different USB port, and even tried using a wireless keyboard. I had no luck with both. However, my wired usb mouse works fine. I even tried my USB wireless network adapter in two USB ports, and I still have signal, so I'm assuming that works fine also.

I downloaded the chipset driver, the M4A87TD EVO BIOS 2001 driver, and an NEC Electronics Corporation USB 3.0 Controller driver. But first, I had to install the Akamai NetSession Interface. After I downloaded all three files, I installed the chipset driver and USB driver by unzipping them, clicking on each file, and clicking on the setup. For some reason, the BIO 2001 driver only had a ROM file, so I just deleted that altogether. After installing and restarting the computer, the keyboard still does not work.

I want to point out that even before manually downloading the drivers, I tried using WIndows Update to install all recommended and important updates. After restarting the computer, the keyboard lights kept blinking on and off.

Anyone know of a solution?

Thanks.

bios are always rom files on asus ,dowload the asus update utilitie version 7.18.03 the dowload the latest bios rom pack version 2001 on the desktop and with the update utilities install the rom pack and let it go dont touch anything until it finish and report done or you could brick your motherboard bios .
