Hello,
I am having a problem with my HP desktop (less than one year old). Earlier today, after updating my antivirus (I didn't install any new software, I simply renewed it for another year), I did a restart on the computer. When I did so, I found that it would not load my "profile" and that the desktop, icons, bookmarks, etc... all went back to their factory settings. I then did a shutdown, let the computer sit for about a minute and then started it back up. This time, everything was fine. Wary of a problem, I then did another restart. This time, my profile loaded fine, but my monitor was rather dim, as if the color profiles/preferences were not loading. Once again, I did a shut-down and then started the computer back up. This time, everything is again fine (profile loaded fine and monitor looks fine again). But I'm worried that this could be indicative of a bigger problem.
Has anyone encountered this sort of thing? If so, do you have any advice for me?
