Windows 7 slowness

I recently upgraded to windows 7 from vista and the internet is much much slower. When i boot in safe mode with networking its back to normal. Anyone have similar problems? or know what i should do? thanks

Try avira free antivirus,it is lighter than avg and runs smoother!

its so slow compared to when in safe mode, it even takes ages to load a youtube video, when in safe mode its lightning fast. ??????????

You might have malware on the machine that is unable to run in safe mode. Try running a scan with spybot search and destroy and with malware antibytes. Also, does the speed vary when using say Internet Explorer vs Firefox?

speed is terrible without anti virus installed. so i guess its not the anti virus software, anything else it could be?

Let's see some of the things going on in there. Please use the Windows key plus R to get to the Run box. Type cmd /k tasklist /svc including the spaces then right click anywhere in the black form that follows and hit Enter. That oputs the entire contents of that form into the clipboard. Copy and paste it back here in a Reply box by pressing Control and V together.

Also, wheh the system statrs to slow down, use Control, Shift and Escape to bring up the Task Manager and click the Processes tab. Then, double click on the heading CPU and double click it again. That brings the highest using processes to the top of the list. Post the details of anything using more than 20%.[/#000ff]

You can do but the Task Manager figure would be meaningless as half the usual tasks won't be running.
