Windows 7 SP1 issues

I installed a new version of windows 7 with SP1 already present with it. Problem is that after the installation, all of my old windows 7 drivers and files were moved and stored in a folder called "windows.old" It is not allowing me to move any files or drivers from that folder into the new one. Can someone please advice me on how to do this?

Don't. Re-download and install all necessary drivers.

1. You should have formatted and wiped that drive (partition) clean for best results.

2. But I would suggest installing the drivers from the MoBo CD / DVD first.... especially at the enthusiast level where ya sometimes get "paid for" utilities (i.e pc diagnostics) and software (DVD player software) in which the product key codes are embedded in the instal files and newer versions on website won't have these.

3. Then install newer ones from manufacturers website.

4. if ya know which is which, by all means skip step 2 if ya know any particular item is not applicable.

Also note that higher end monitors also may come with specific inf or color profile settings.

The drivers aren't the main issue, I want to transfer my Steam files my videos, music etc from there, however it wont give me the option to cut any files from the windows.old folder.
(already installed the mobo drivers)

No worries I just enabled homegroup sharing and restarted. I can move things now.
