Hi,

Today my computer (Windows 8.1 x86) started having a strange issue...when I swipe in from the right and choose "Search" from the Charms menu, once I start typing in the search box the whole display flashes blue and then the desktop resets, re-loading every icon. The same thing happens when I click on the search box in the upper-right corner of any Windows Explorer page. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? Many thanks.

Thank you very much for your response! I was going to do a system restore but before I could launch the program, I got a "Windows has detected errors on the hard drive" popup and it made me scan the drive and then restart to repair errors. After that, the problem disappeared. Even so, thank you so much for your suggestion--I'll keep it in mind if anything happens in the future :)

Hi I tried this but it could only fix some of them. This problem began last week. I tried posting the results from the scan but it was to large. What I can do next to fix these errors?

My system:
ASUS S56C
OS: Windows 8 64 bit, but then upgraded to 8.1 last year.
CPU: Intel core i5 - 3317U, 1.7GHz
Memory: C: drive 279GB
D: drive 398 GB SSD

You should create a new topic with a more detailed description. This is just going to confuse people.
