Hi guys, sorry for my bad english. I have a problem with my laptop (Asus N550JX). First, i was reset my laptop because the performance of my laptop is very bad. When the resetting finished, i check for windows updates and it took me 10 hours for checking and it did nothing. So, i searched for some guides and i found the solution. The solution was to install these update (KB3138615), so i installed the update and it did show me the updates that need to be installed. It was around 203 updates, so i download all the updates and install. After done installing, the windows told me to restart my laptop so i restart my laptop. Then this problem came out, when booting, the asus logo does appear, but the loading dot below the logo does not appear and stuck. I really need your help because next week i have to use this laptop for presenting my school work. Thank You

Do you have a win 8 installer? if not, get it here - https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows8
its just a boot drive if nothing else
Try tapping F8 at startup and see if it puts you into safe mode

change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose automatic repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info

if that doesn't work, try safe mode
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
Pc will restart and load safe mode

sometimes just getting into safe mode is enough, restart PC and see if its working now.

yes i tried already your solution, but i don't know why i cannot startup my laptop to safe mode. It said like the windows cannot load to safe mode and it gave me choices which are restore or cancel, i chose to cancel. Then, i went to command prompt (from the automatic repair) then i type sfc /scannow. The result was Windows Resource Protection is corrupted and successfully repaired. Then i restart again my laptop and still do nothing. I have no choice, so i reset again my laptop. But hopefully, i found the perfect solution for this kind of problem. I installed 2 updates, which are KB3021910 (download this first before proceed to the next update) and KB3172614. For me, these 2 updates prevent fail booting when updating the other updates. Maybe the previous update that i installed (KB3138615) have some bugs or something. So, yeah my laptop is now normal and fully updated. Thank You
