"Welcome to The Internet": The age where YOU are self deteriorating YOURSELF by selling off YOUR privacy. The age where you born "Human Being" but die like a fool.

Its not metro apps only, its desktop too! Its not Windows 8 only its all version of Windows. Its not Windows only, its all operating systems connected to Internet. Even the folks at Redhat know what are you up to. Anything running on BGP protocol is threat to privacy. Like it or not The Internet sucks on privacy!

Coz when you are connected, "You have been watched"..

Steve Balmer himself keeps paper notepad and pen in his pocket (during his trip to Korea he hinted on it).

The biggest privacy selling corporation in the name of openness known to mankind is Google. Selling your search history, thinking pattern, choices you make, links you tap, routes you take, your moods, the Gmail email you sent, the email you receive, the email you read, the email you saved in draft...everything is sold for dimes to the interesting parties; intelligence collectors etc. While you are getting inspired and wowing the technology and you have been told that its for your own good, you are basically screwing yourself in a bigger picture..

It was the part of Illuminates' new world order. The idea really is to spot and profile anyone at anytime in the entire world.. so they can control humans like their little b....es and "disinfect" anyone at anytime who is against their rules.

~ the more rapidly countries adapt IPv6, the more quickly the entire humanity will tear apart.. nobody wins eventually but many people will get hurt by it.

I am not panicking.
When a problem or PC crashes. I think it just gives Microsoft more information on the software causing the problem and PC so they can address the problem and help the user. i do not believe it is being used to through people into jail for using Torrents or to let the police know your looking at porn. If this is to help Microsoft be more secure and more problem free then i am all for it. Yes privacy is on my mind but I am trying to understand why Microsoft is doing this. They are not the police and are not going to profit for working with them.

How about not installing Windows 8? Then what is it going to tell to M$? Something like..."It is dark in here, in the box, on the shelf".

I'm not installing Windows 8 on anything so this is a mute story for me. But Apple is trying similar actions with its Mountain Lion which can be set to only allow apps to be downloaded from Apple's app store or a approved vendor? Sounds familiar right?

[citation][nom]Kami3k[/nom]Well looks like Windows 7 will be with me for a long time! Maybe I should buy up some retail copies just in case....[/citation]
Way ahead of you, dude... 😛 Picked up three retail copies of Windows 7 Ultimate about a month ago.
[citation][nom]sgtgimpy[/nom]Well any of you that are upset, I hope you haven't been using Steam at all. It been doing this for years. Don't believe me. Here you go http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey[/citation]
Wait, you want to equate Steam (a program you can choose not to use, which is not forced on you in any way) checking your version of DirectX, to Windows 8 (your computer's operating system) screening every piece of software you install? Sure, that's a direct analogy.
[citation][nom]sgtgimpy[/nom]Also would like to add. Who gives a crap if they collect it. If your not doing anything illegal so what. If they want to waste their time and money watching me. Then by all means do it and I will make sure I am the most boring person that you ever spy on just to suck up your time and money. Now if you doing illegal stuff then you really have no room to complain about this.[/citation]
I just...wow. "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to hide."

Again folks... if you have to bother learning a whole new interface and want control of YOUR computer... why bother with another MS OS? Might as well try Linux - such as LinuxMint (Cinnamon version) screw Metro. Windows as we know it, is coming to an end... thats the plan. There will be no Windows9 to wait for... unless Windows8 totally fails.

[citation][nom]idroid[/nom]Over my dead body those fockers will know what i install....its incredible the amount of violations against our privacy that some companies commit[/citation]

It's even more amazing that we keep throwing money at them and support it. It's more a lack of understanding and care that leads to wonderful "features" such as this. Windows needs more competition. Apple doesn't count. Perhaps Linux?

I suggest reading this: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2012/08/windows-8-privacy-complaint-misses-the-forest-for-the-trees/

Its a proper story written by someone who has the proper knowledge to examine the facts rather then rush to push out a piece of sensationalist garbage like Tom's is becoming known for. I suggest all the tin foil hatters do a little more research before taking anything on this rag of a website for truth.

You won't, though. That requires thought and forming a unique opinion, and I know how very much you guys like to have your opinions given to you. It's just easier, right?

Dunno if it's correct regarding RTM, but smartscreen was disabled on my preview build by default and since today's the first time I'm hearing of it, I can confirm that it doesn't periodically warn me to turn it back on (in my preview build).

[citation][nom]john_4[/nom]Ubuntu is probably the best, most supported and mature Linux distro out there for the masses. The interface is much like OS X.[/citation]
And OSX is a major force to be reckoned with even with Apple behind it and a huge marketing campaign, as long as Linux is not a singular market entity and run entirely like a homework project it will never break 1% of users. Fact.

[citation][nom]master_chen[/nom]You forgot one major thing:NO. ONE. USES. IE.NOBODY.NEVER.EVER.Guess why, huh?[/citation]
You don't use it, millions of other people do, get down from the ivory tower

May I direct you to the following words in the main body of this story:-
scare piece
and:-
Now that we have RTM in the wild can you show me one piece of supporting evidence? Otherwise I will have to view this story for what it looks like, tabloid smear probably pushed out by Apple or Google to try and dirty the waters ahead of the Windows 8 launch. A single bit of proof, all I need.
