Less than a week ago I worked on a laptop for a customer. Windows 10 had crashed, and I had to reset it. I just heard back that it failed to boot again, apparently after a failed update, and she wants me to fix it without paying. It's a 50-mile round trip to this customer's house, so I would like some advice before I do a freebie. I'm especially concerned that Windows Update will keep corrupting the system, and I'll be wasting both of our times.
Plus, this is actually the third time that the computer has needed a reset, the first being a few months ago for a significant performance issue.
