I'm getting the error "you can't access this shared folder because your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access". The shared file is on a Windows 7 machine and we are trying to access it from a Windows 10 computer that is on a secure domain. The windows 7 machine is connected to a windows 10 computer via an ethernet cable on a different network card.
What we have tried:
The machine came with Windows 7 but unfortunately we are unable to update it to Windows 10.
Question: is there another way (back-door) to access a shared file (connected from a windows 7 computer to a windows 10 computer) without being on the domain or workgroup?
What we have tried:
- Map the network drive from the windows 10 PC but gives the same error
- Map the network drive from the Windows 7 PC but it wants to be on a workgroup or domain (we can’t have a Windows 7 pc on the same domain as all of our Windows 10 PCs due to Windows 7 security issues. Also, making both on the workgroup would disconnect us from the secure domain network.)
- Basic windows file sharing but this also gives the same error.
The machine came with Windows 7 but unfortunately we are unable to update it to Windows 10.
