Hi
I've recently built a new computer based mainly for gaming. Just after installing all my programs and other things i came accross a problem with mi itunes. I went to open it and it said that it had to be closed because it had encountered a problem. When i went to uninstall the program i couldn't and an error came up on the screen saying, "There is a problem with this windows installer pakcage. A program required for this install to complete could not be run". i tried reinstalling my windows installer package with one downloaded from the microsoft website and it still persists to bring up the same error and so i cannot remove all the components of the itunes package. If anyone has any ideas what might be causing this problem please help me.

Thanks in advance, Eddie.

The installer also tracks what needs to be deleted when you uninstall - which sounds like it is corrupted or missing information.

Try re-installing itunes. It should give you the option to repair your existing installation, or at least reinstall completely.

After it's reinstalled or repaired, you should be able to remove it.
