Windows keeps crashing

I have used windows xp for sometime now but I have never seen a problem quite
like this one. I have no idea why my windows keeps crashing.

Nothing is on the event manager, right now the only thing I can assume is a
hardware problem.

The problem happens when I am using MSN while surfing. When I alt+tab from
the MSN chat screen to IE, the system crashes. This problem does not happen
every time but quite often.

I can use the mouse and the alt+tab "swich screen" seems to show but I can
not access the task manager or any other programs running (including MSN and
IE).

The only thing I can do then is hard boot the machine.

I have tried reinstalling windows with no success.

This problem is on my new "referbished" HP laptop(nc4010).

Are you using the new Beta version of MSN software?

You might be better off to repost this issue to the MSN group for a quicker response. To do this and since you are posting via the CDO interface copy\paste the below link into your Browsers address bar to access the group .
