Windows not seeing SATA HDD on A8V

So my system's almost up and running...except that Windows (XP
Home) will not detect my HDD. Setup detects it, bios detects it,
but Windows when booted from CD will not (upon exiting, I get
"missing operating system" so I know my board sees the hard drive).

New SATA drive, fdisk is the only thing that's been done to it.
I do have a copy of 98 that I can try to see if that detects the
drive...

Did you load the SATA driver when you loaded windows ?

I loaded the VIA driver (I'm not using RAID); I'll try again.
The Promise controller, even though I'm not using it, is trying
to see the drive as well and can't.

Be sure to be connected in via slot on M/B and in bios/boot with the via
SATA.

There is a Driver even if you are not using Raid Sata 378 is Promise
drivers if you are not using Raid

Also when you do make the floppy lable it and keep it where you know where
it is in a month it lost the driver and i had to reinstall it with teh
windows disk.
