Hi everyone.

(TLDR version below post)

I have purchased a new pc last week but I have been experiencing the weirdest crashes.
The PC was purchased from a quality vendor with all new parts. The specs are as follows:
-INTEL i5 4670k
- ASUS B85M-G
- ASUS 2GB DDR5 GTX770
- 500GB HARDDISK, 7200RPM, SATA6G
- 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ HYPER-X KINGSTON
- 550W XFX 80+ CERTIFIED PSU (SEASONIC)

On a unrelated matter: I realise that the 4670k is the overclock edition while the motherboard does not support overclocking.

I have installed Windows 7 ultimate and ran the windows update and installes the latest video card drivers and directx.
I noticed while playing FFXIV that when I alt+tab and browsed a bit, the PC would crash. The crash can be described as a full black (or other color!) screen and the keyborad/ mouse would not work anymore.
It went fine ingame, great FPS, low GPU temperatures (<50 C) but when I went alt+tab and browsed a bit, the PC would crash. Often even, the pc would not start for a few minutes

Following this I did the following:

I tested GPU stability by running Furmark.
The benchmark/stress test performed fine but AFTER the test, when pressing the 'compare scores online'..it would crash again.
Alarmed by this, I ran various tests..I tested HDD stability using WD diagnostic tools. I stress tested my CPU with prime95 and ran memtest86 to test my ram. No problems found.

One pattern however: AFTER putting my GPU on full load and doing stuff that was 'easy' such as browsing, instant crash.

Installing different browsers (maybe it was a browser issue?) did not help. Installing Windows 8.1, did not help.

I am at the end of my rope. I have no clue what it is, not even completely sure if its hardware/driver/software related.

TLDR:
My Windows (7 or 8.1) crashes AFTER stressing my GPU in Furmark (or a game). During stress, performs as expected, but afterwards, immediate and full windows crash

Solutions tried:
CPU tested using prime. Pass
HDD tested using WD Diagnostic tool. Pass
Memory tested using memtest86. Pass
Gpu tested using Furmark. During test: pass, afterwards FAIL.

Please help me!

Hi,

Thank you for your response. However, I only have 1x 8gb so I cannot take anything out. I tried adjusting the mhz to 1333 but it does not seem to help. I have no idea where to go from here,.,,
