Okay here we go. I have ms office service set to manual, so that it doesn't start at boot. Perfect. However, once I run an office program and close said program the service continues to run. Even though, the program has ended. Is there a program of some type or anything else I can do to set the service to stop when the program is closed? I know I can manually stop the service.

Not that I know of.

For those that don't know you can enter and then stop services manually. Click hold Windows key and tap R and type services.msc and tap enter.

You can also click Start and type services and press enter.

Let's say you use Office at a set time every day. You know it takes about 45 minutes to complete the session...

Let's say you use Office at a set time every day. You know it takes about 45 minutes to complete the session. You can use Task Scheduler with a couple .bat files to autostart and stop Office and the service https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Cc29ZMpr0 . Create bat files https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18428213/how-to-schedule-the-start-and-stop-of-a-windows-service. Autorun those with the Task Scheduler. It can start at 9 in the morning and close Office and its Service at 10 or any time you choose.

Like I said, I don't know of a a way that has a program tell services to stop but that is a roundabout way you just have to create once.
