Windows up date will not work in windows vista

windows update does not work, it wont update

Try running the System Update Readiness tool - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool

Do you get any error message when trying to update? How far does it get? Do updates get found? Does it fail while downloading or fail while installing? or does it fail when the computer is restarted to finish updates?
