hiya guys, ive come across this problem and i really dont
know what to do about it
I got windows xp installed, and a few weeks ago, i put in
another hard disk (maxtor sumthing sumthing), now the
problem is, when the maxtor disk is recognized by the BIOS
(it doesnt always... :s ), my windows wont boot, it will
stop dead right after the splash screen...
Has anybody seen this before?

Test the drive in a different computer. It should always show up in the
BIOS, not just sometimes.

Dang. Just thought about this too. Did the Maxtor drive have Windows
installed on it? When you are connecting it, is the computer trying to
boot off the Maxtor? Is the hard drive with XP on it from a different
computer than the one it is booting on?
