Windows XP 32 and ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 GEN 3

I'm building a computer, but haven't ordered any parts yet. Yes, I've also never done this before.

The motherboard I will be using is the ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 GEN 3, as I want to upgrade to Sandy Bridge at some point.

ASRock claims that this motherboard supports Windows XP 32-bit, but I have heard otherwise; something about UEFI vs. BIOS. Can anyone shed some light on my confusion? Will Windows XP run on this motherboard?
