Although really, I lucked in on a web page I thought might have some relevance, you put in the hard yards.

In any case, If you are visiting the forums using ww.tomsguide.com you aren't given quite a few options. Visiting the site using ww.tomshardware.com extra options are made available.

It required the use of a modified NTDETECT.COM file in order for it to boot on Dell Machines. If anyone wants me to provide the steps on exactly how to get this working then let me know.

Dear , i have also the same issue , i can install xp from usb in every computer without problem but in dell desktop computers (gx270, gx520 etc) when i try to install xp using usb drive its booting , and wait at starting windows , before press enter to continue option its show blue screen

i also copy ntdetect.com from working windows but same error
can u please help me in this regards
