WinXP limitation

Hi everyone,
I heard that when you use Win XP, you won't be able to copy MP3 to CD or decode MP3 from CD, right? Can you play MP3 on WinXP?

The way it seems to work is that if you rip a cd with the built in software it does it in WMA format. You can PURCHASE a mp3 mod for the player though, but I have no experience with that.

As far as playing mp3's though no problem.
