Can anyone help me plz?......I've just installed XP Pro & XP Plus on my system. The install went nice & smooth (no driver issues or hardware conflicts). The problem is when I go online using the bundled IE6, about 75% of the sites I visit cannot be displayed. I get the page opening message at the bottom of the screen,then it says done but the page stays blank. Also whenever I try to download anything that involves the standard type of java window to start download,the java box doesnt appear I just get a 404 error. The internet settings have been left on their default settings and I checked to see if there was a tick box to enable/disable java or something ,but all the seetings look ok......as far as I can tell.
If anyone else has experienced the same or knows what the problem may be,you help & advice would be very much appreciated.

Windows XP does not come with Java support. You will need to download a 30mb java update from microsoft.

Thank god for Toms Hardware Guide's Community. An ongoing example of brilliance and stupidity.

I thought one of purposes of this forum is to get help & advice from more knowledgable users......seeing as Xdarkronin was obviously born with infinate PC knowledge, why is he here?

Unless I am mistaken Blah's link above needs to have the http:// dropped in order to work... BTW what is the url for the site???
