Wireless access point vs router

A neighbor wants to share the cost and service of my internet. She has two desktops, and a laptop with wifi. The signal on her laptop is low. How can I strengthen the signal, and what does she need to get service on her desktop.

You would at least need a wireless repeater, and hopefully able to position either at your or her location, whichever best gets around obstacles and other sources of interference that may be limiting your wireless router’s range. But even under the best of conditions, your typical wireless router/AP has a practical limit of about 150 ft radius. In some cases, you may have to invest in better, directional antennas, or even point-to-point wireless bridging between locations.
