this is what i have done so far..
1. i bought a new wireless router.. didnt work
2. i bought a more powerful router with extra range.. didnt work
3. i got new cords to hook everything up... didnt work
4. i reset everything.. didnt work
5. i got rid of the cordless phones.. didnt work
6. called linksys .. and went through setting configurations.. didnt work

We have a motorolla cable modem.. its not the modem i called and said it was working perfectly and i dirrectly connected the computer to the modem and the internet did not drop.

Our wireless router is a linksys wrt160N

This same thing happened to me today for no reason. I have the same router. It has worked fine for 2 years and all of a sudden I have to be right next to it for it to work. Very strange. Did you ever figure this out?

What GigaHertz range do you use? 2.4GHZ Blends in with cellphones-microwaves-CB Radios. 3.0GHZ or 5 GHZ shouldn't have any problems. Maybe the Government Like Enemy of The State or Deus EX are on to you
