Witcher 2 lagging with uber system

Hi

I set the game to ultra settings, yet in spite of me having quite a solid setup it still seems to lag at certain points (well it's playable but you notice it doesn't run smoothly)

I have an intel 2600k, an asus p8z68 gen 3 pro mobo, a radeon 7970 card (pcie 3.0 lane 16x), 16gb ddr3 ram (corsair vengeance) and a more than enough power supply (850 watt, long story...).

My game is still vanilla, so my question is: if i update the game would it make it smoother?

There are hardly any things running in the background and the ram should definetly cover it.

Any Ideas?

Turn off ubersampling, it halfs your framerate.

game updates are always good. The game is probably trying to load a massive amount of data (map's, textures) these take time. and cause lag.

Yeah I thought so too, it lags a bit in the forest in Act I , otherwise in the city it seems to be fine. Will update and try cutting down on sampling. Thx.

but still, I'm a bit surprised, that my rig has problems handling Witcher 2... maybe something is wrongly set up...
