WLAN network can only be found by some devices

Hi everybody,
I have two laptops and one of them sees the WLAN that I want to connect to, it lists it as a top option. The other one does not see it but sees a bunch of others that I do not have the password for. At the same time I can also connect on my smartphone and the two other neighbours that we share the WLAN with also have no problem connecting on their laptops.

Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong with my second laptop and what I could do to force it to recognize this WLAN?

Hi.

I don't know if it helps or not, Based on my personal experience some old devices may not find WiFi routers that use specific type of security (WAP2 mixed for example) or some devices may not be able to find high WiFi channels (channels 13 or 14 in 2.5GHz routers).

You may want to check your security or WiFi channel.

It depends on which network you are trying to connect to. Most wi-fi devices will see and connect to a 2.4GHz channel using various authentication methods. However, not all devices are equipped to see both modern channels i.e. 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

I also have two laptops - my newer work one will see both of my LAN channels (2.4 + 5), but my older home laptop will only connect to the 2.4Ghz one which is why I had to by a dedicated 5Ghz USB dongle for it. Same for my iPhones - my 6 will see both, but my older 4 will only connect to the 2.4GHz network.

m.maleki.m89 and svalbaard, thank you a lot for giving me these valuable hints.
My problem is solved and here is what I did: I checked Device Manager/ Network Adapters and saw that I'm using 802.11n Wireless LAN Card. I went to Properties, then to the Advanced tab and saw that value of Channel Mode is 2.4 G + 5G, however, the Country Region value was (1-11). I changed it to (1-13). Now my laptop is able to find the WiFi router.
