WMP wont play or rip CD

just bought some cds and ripped them all using WMP. but one of them wont play or rip ( Stone Sour-Come what (ever) may). Tried using itunes but same result. It just hangs when i hit rip and does nothing, the time bar is moving but there is no volume. Tried the cd in my Xbox One and it works fine.

Any help would be very welcome.

Maybe try CDex or something.

For a while they had this "copy control" that caused issues for some drives/software.

it's more than likely the copy protection scheme they used on cds during a certain time period. That album was during then. One of my Sum 41 CDs is the same way.

Personally, I use Exact Audio Copy to rip all my CDs to mp3 since it does automatic tagging, error correction, and has options to use lame encoder or flac.

I have heard there is a way around the copy protection physically, but it involves using a permanent marker to put an outer ring on the CD (not recommended imo).
