Is there any part of this story that doesn't scream "This chick is a complete moron in every way possible?" Too funny to be true, my suspicion is the whole incident is a farce.

[citation][nom]eklipz330[/nom]the lesson of today's story? learn to build your own computer, and avoid stupid problems like this!now im off to find these pictures =D[/citation]

You build your own laptop? Or you didn't read the article, because you wanted to be first?

[citation][nom]mavanhel[/nom]While I hate to say it, but she kind of deserved it. She should've reported the guy once she found the pictures online.[/citation]

Deserve it? Stupid people deserve to be ill treated? wtf is wrong with you people?

it says nothing about her sending her own laptop. in fact it doesn't say she owned a laptop at all. he requested a NEW laptop for his home in mumbai.

you are the one that did not read the article

[citation][nom]ta152h[/nom]Why would someone want naked pictures of a 48 year old? If I had to look at those pictures, I'd feel violated.[/citation]

didn't notice that earlier, what's fishy to me why she needs to locate the nude pics through Dell.

[citation][nom]tat2demon[/nom]Sounds very fishy to me. He steals her pics, posts them and she gives him a laptop? Sounds more like they started some freaky relationship, she sent him pics, gave him a laptop, money ect. and when he decided she was a dumb bitch it was time to get rid of her and she wants revenge.[/citation]

1. If you have nude pictures on your computer and its hooked up to the net -- most likely they will end up out there in the wild.

2. If you have to have tech support remotely access your system to fix an issue, and you have nude pictures on your computer -- most likely it is going to be seen.

3 If you are 48 years old and have a computer with remote access enabled and have nude pictures on your computer - good chances someone has already looked.

4. if you don't know what 'remote access' you better ask somebody - its been around for a long time and has been the bane of most people's online existence

5. If you have someone build the computer FOR YOU .. you maybe still left open to the same vulnerabilities . Learn how to build it yourself!!! You don't know how ? lets see .. if you can use Google .. you can build a computer.. if you can putz your way through facebook.. you better learn how to ask somebody!

It is a shame that this happened to this lady. HOWEVER!!! If your computer is 'broken' and you leave stuff on there and don't do backups on REMOTE, ( that's Not attached to your computer or any network infrastructure ) hard drive or storage medium. You set yourself up for this kind of stuff to happen every single time ... Like I said ..It's a shame that it happened but I don't feel sorry for her one bit. As for the Dell tech ? that putz needs to be fired !! Or at least take her out for a dinner and a movie.

BTW I looked up the news story ...
obviously not the smartest tool in the shed ...
took courage for her to report this to the media ... but .. yeeesh !!

Each one of the was worth looking at 15 to 20 years ago. Monica Belluci being the exception. She was worth looking at 10 years ago. I'm talking about nude of course. With clothes on and makeup, they can look good much longer.

But, I wouldn't want to see any of them naked. Father Time is cruel.

Father time isn't cruel ... he imposes "character" on us all.

Some women get better with time ... like mine !!

One day you will be 40 something ...

I feel sorry for the woman as she was clearly a trusting soul ...

I saw the news video there has to be more to the story I dont think shes telling the complete truth why would she be stupid enough to buy the dell rep a computer it just doesnt make sense to me.

[citation][nom]descendency[/nom]I seriously wonder what would happen if a tech found child porn pictures on a laptop.[/citation]
Happens all the time, I used to work at a PC shop and all of our branches used to get idiot pedophiles with various tech problems.
Queue the repair guy finding the pictures and a telephone call the Police.
Needless to say there was no issue of warrant or illegal search. After a quick chat with the local constabulary we would call back the owner and ask them to collect their "repair". When they dropped in store they would then be frogmarched out the backdoor to a waiting Police car by a humourless plod.

Personally, if it was up to me I wouldn't call the Police, there would simply be a non-collected item on the shelf as the owner slowly rotted in the bottom of a mineshaft.
