Wondering what I need to upgrade in my pc..

Hey guys! I've been pc gaming for years, and decided it's time for am upgrade. I currently have an Hp Pavilion p6-2107c. I don't need a gpu that'll run ten displays at a time or anything, just one that'll run anything I want on ultra, without having to upgrade every component of the pc. I was about to buy a VisionTek radeon r9 280x and a Sentey 725w power supply to power it. I'm not extraordinarily experienced with building pc's, so I need some help as far as compatibility and what extra cables, etc I'd need to buy to complete the installation. I'm trying to stay as close to $200 as possible (I found a source to get both the card and the psu for $230). Again, not looking for anything too crazy, but something that can handle current and future games well. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I'm open to anything! Thank you!

What's the cpu of your current PC? the 280x + the psu is a nice upgrade, but the CPU factors. If the CPU can't keep up with the gpu, then you'll have upgraded for minimal gains.

I currently have an AMD A6 3620, but according to HP, it can only be upgraded to a 3800 or 3850. I'm not overly experienced with cpu's, so I need as much help as I can get..
