Hey! I just built a new gaming computer
CPU: Intel I5 7600K
GPU Asus Dual Gtx 1070 8GB
Mobo: MSi Z270/H270 Tomahawk Artic
When ever I turn on the computer it shows the MSi logo and after about 2 seconds it just disappears to a black screen and says "Reboot and select a proper boot device, or insert bot media in selected boot device and press any key" It do this and it just doubles the message over and over.
Keyboard: Havit Magic Eagle RGB keyboard
Mouse: Havic Magic Eagle RGB mouse
The OS is win 10 and I'm booting it off a USB drive 128gb

Thanks -Michael

There are generally two display options when your first power up a computer. The first is the Power On Self Test or "POST" screen. The other option is the motherboard manufacturer logo screen. It appears this is the configuration you're currently set up for.

Per your motherboard manual Pg. 39 under "Entering BIOS", you need to press the DEL key to enter BIOS when you see the message, "Press DEL key to enter Setup Menu, F11 to enter Boot Menu". It seems likely that you are not seeing this message due to the Motherboard Logo screen.

Shut down your system and then power it back up. There should be a second or two before that Logo screen comes up. Start spamming the F11 key as soon as you can and you should be able to change the Boot...
Has this always happened or has it worked previously and now isn't?

Sure you can't press DEL / F2 / F11 rapidly to enter the BIOS/Boot load and modify the boot load?
If you're sure the boot load is correct and you're trying to boot off of the USB, is the USB bootable?

I have tried it does not work. What do you mean by boot load and if it is bootable?

Your BIOS has a boot load. Effectively you're telling it what component to boot your OS or ISO file from. I.e. If i have a boot load of:
1) SATA SSD 1
2) HDD 1
3) USB

It will try to boot the SSD first, then if that fails, the HDD, then so on. So your USB needs to be number 1 in the boot load.

Also your USB has to be bootable. If you've created the USB Windows Installer using a media creation tool from Microsoft, it will be bootable. If you've just dropped an ISO onto a random USB, it won't be. The USB has to be configured to tell the BIOS that it's a bootable storage drive, otherwise it won't open from it.

Thanks for fast reply! How do I make it bootable? Can you make it bootable from a mac?

As I said, it depends on how you installed it. If you used a proper installer, then it probably will be bootable, you've got a different problem. But if you did just drop an ISO onto a USB and nothing else, then you'll need to make it bootable.

Mac creating a bootable device: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201372

So how did you originally put Windows onto the USB?
And if you're trying to install Windows ONTO a mac, then that's a different story (but i assume it's just that you have a mac handy)

Start spamming the DEL key and you should be able to enter BIOS (and change the Boot Order) as well as changing the start screen from the MSI Logo to the POST screen.
