which version of word? if you not sure, go to file/account and in about word section it should say. Current version on office 365 is Version 2006

every single help link says to unblock the file, but that function may only exist for files created on other PC, as I don't see it in properties for win 10.
Part 2 or 3 here may help - https://recoverit.wondershare.com/file-repair/word-experienced-an-error-trying-to-open-the-file.html#:~:text=It means that the file,an error opening the file.”

Don't download anything.
