Working to gaming build

Hey guys I wanna build a computer but I have to a mass the funds over time. I was wondering Can I build a computer for working and as I get the money put in a graphics card or is the graphics card needed upon building?

Only way to get it working like that is if your CPU includes an integrated GPU on so you can use for light gaming.
