When was the last time you ran Crysis 2? I ask, because I just reinstalled it lastnight along with the high res textures and DX11 patches. What surprised me is that I'm getting nearly double the frames on a single 680 in 3D vision, as I was with 470's in SLI a few months ago. I'm not sure how, but Crysis 2 got a big boost in performance at some point. A 680 with 3D Vision and max settings (no AA) and I'm maxed at 60 FPS almost the whole time (With 3D vision, you are always V-sync'ed).

I play it often.

But, I am playing it with a couple of big mods and I keep my CCC sliders jacked way up.

I'm not lowering settings in the control panel, but I'm not turning on AA settings. The main point was I saw a huge boost this time around, much more than there should have been. Of course it could be 3D vision enhancements, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: And Crysis 2 does not support AA in game (I'm sure there are ways around it).

I'm assuming all your comparisons are based on mods. I'm not sure mods should be factored in, even Oblivion can be modded to low FPS.

I am just a bit perplexed that you would involve yourself in a dispute that didn't concern you. You insinuated that I was attempting to be funny, when I was not.

I did not bring up my intelligence. The other guy brought up his. He is the one claiming to be smart, not me. Not once did I claim to be smart. He made that claim, not I.

Why not go after the self professed genius? Why go after me?

Just curious, that's all.

Factored in to what?

I just play it modded and make known my performance. I leave people to draw their own conclusions.

I'm not, so don't take it that way... it's farcical you guys are entertaining eachother on the topic of intelligence. Just trivial if you ask me. That's all...

Crysis 2 is definitely demanding and is in the top 3. I honestly think Shogun 2 is the winner when it's in all it's glory...

You know, after looking at the posts it does seem that I jumped the gun on you a little too quickly. It's easy to be overly defensive when you are already in fight mode.

I am done with it now.

I'm through arguing - don't want to get banned.

Just a little friendly advice for the future...

Never brag on your own intelligence. Whether or not you are right, people will always smell BS.

Wanna know why?

Because that is something that people who really are intelligent never do, especially online.

Cheerio!

BEFORE anyone decides to keep arguing (and PCgamer81 did say he/she would stop), I would like to tell all of you that over 1500 people have viewed this post. Don't know if you know... maybe some of you are doing it for the "publicity"...

If you're still obliged to argue, then at least argue about something more entertaining. For example...

MINECRAFT! TOTALLY THE MOST GPU- AND CPU-INTENSIVE GAME OUT THERE! (for the servers...)

No biggie... I understand being defensive.

Do you have Shogun 2? If so, crank it up and compare with Crysis 2 cranked. Zoomed in with large formations eats cards up and Shogun 2 loves VRAM. If you have it, it'll use it.

Yep, I have shogun 2 and I play it maxed.

I haven't really compared it with anything, but it is beautiful.

The only thing is that I don't know how to play it. I am new to turn based strategy. I did teach myself to play Civ 5, but Shogun 2 seems a thousand times deeper and more complex (at least so far).

I will have to try what you said. I'm a sucker for good graphics.

It can be challenging getting acclimated to the mechanics but once it's down it's really fun.

Shogun 2 is mostly turn based strategy with only minor elements of real-time.

I hardly think a GTS 450 would cut it for anything other than mine craft LOL even then it would have slow downs.
