Question Worth upgrading i7-3770 to 2600x/2700x?

Hi folks.

Wondering if it’s worthwhile upgrading from i7-3770, 16gb ddr3 1600, gigabyte hd3 mobo to a Ryzen 26/2700x, x470 mob and 16gb 3200mhz ram?

Pc is mostly used for gaming especially VR with a rift currently and probably an index within the next year. Is ryzen reliable with vr or is it advisable to stick with intel when it comes to gaming?

Current gpu is a 1070
With a 27” 1440 display.

The AMD Ryzen's are great for gaming and VR. Overall they are about 5-10% slower than the top Intel at 1080p, but once you get to 1440p or more the difference disappears.

Yes. Worth it.
Not only for the performance gain, but for being more up to date with your hardware for newer games that come out that are starting to take more and more advantage of multi threading which Ryzen excels at

Worth it, however I suggest you wait for the new boards from MSI the new Meg Ace x570 and the Ryzen 3k series processors. If you can wait and would rather go cheaper then Get the X570 meg Ace board along with the 2700X or go with a 3600x as they're supposedly comparable to each other.
