Would a antec 450 watt PSU be enoug power for this build?

I have the following for the setup:

-i3 2100 cpu
-MSi motherboard
-4 gb of ram
- saphire radeon vapor 4850
- 250gb hard drive
- dvd rom
-couple of regular 120 mm fans.


would my antec 450 watt PSu be enough power? id like to avoid buying another one.

Should power it easily.

The 450vp is not the most efficient nor the highest quality power supply that's out there but it's still loads better than most of the crappier PSU's for the same price.

quick question i got all these components for 280$ good deal you think? just curious if i got screwed or a good deal. without the psu of course was 280.

You'll be OK.
A 450W PSU is what Sapphire is recommending for a HD 4850 equipped system.

Not enough information to know if your PSU will support your system. The power on the 12v rail is more important than the total wattage of the PSU for a gaming system.

You need to know if the 12v rail has enough wattage for the card. Look at the sticker on the side of the PSU for the per-rail ratings. You're looking for something like +12v- the XXa, which is 12 volts @ XX amps. multiply the voltage by the amperage to get the wattage, and compare that to the power your card draws under load.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but if i were to purchase a radeon 6870 would this psu still be ok with this build? jjust checking
