I recently got some more money to spend on components. UNFORTUNATLEY I already bought everything but the GPU. I have enough money to move from a 1060 to a 1070 and was wondering if this would be a smart move. Some more details about my setup are below.
My system, (Minus GPU)
MSI B350 tomahawk
Ryzen 5 1600
16gb of ddr4 300mhz ram
600watt EVGA 80+bronze
Thermaltake Vera N21 case
1tb hdd and 240gb ssd
I will be playing at 1600*900 on a 60hz monitor until at lest Christmas, then I plan to go to 1080p. I want to have my system last as long as possible without an upgrade.

Also, would my cpu pose a bottleneck?

Solution
The 1060 is enough for 1080p even for ultra settings in most games. Moving to a 1070 just because you have the money wont be a smart choice, as you wont feel a big difference in terms of performance. It is better, you save the money for a more powerful card later on when you move to higher resolution.

What Hellfire13 said, with the addition that you can't really afford a 1070 right now anyway because the prices are ridiculously inflated because of the fake-money miners buying them all up. 1060s are kind of inflated right now as well, though. =\ Bad time to need a gfx card.

Fake money? You mean like all that worthless paper they print everyday? Or like the money the Fed creates out of thin air?

Just wait till the 2060's or 70's come out.
