I've been taking a A+ certification course and have been trying to improve my computer as much as possible with the knowledge I've acquired. So I don't care so much about downloading videos or music particularly fast, but when I game I often have a bad ping, and figured that it might be because my ethernet cable is too low grade. I realize the games shouldn't be too demanding, but I figured why not. So is cat5e a concern for any games?
I started checking my network cables to see what version they were, and sure enough they were all cat 5e. I was about to upgrade them, but then I realized, this is one of those shitty apartments where they built a stupidly complex cabling system right into the wall, and that cabling system is all cat5e.
So knowing all of this, the only solution I can think of is to have the cable company come down and setup another modem in my room and make them install the newest cat 6 cables.
