Question Would I notice a difference if I added another 16GB of DDR4?

I currently have an RTX 2080/i7 8700 with a single stick of 16GB DDR4. I'm looking for the cheapest upgrades possible for the most amount of noticeable improvement.

A DDR4 stick I was looking at is very cheap at $25, but I wanted to ask you guys if it would make much of a difference.

Specs in that hp webpage says, it should have 2x8GB modules installed.
Motherboard of your pc has 2 dram slots only.
To upgrade from 2x8GB to 32GB total, you'd have to get 2x16GB DDR4 kit.

Running dual channel will be a good upgrade for gaming performance. Intel has traditionally been really good with mis-matched sticks of RAM, but don't really suggest doing so.

Download CPU-Z and check the memory tab for the timings. You will want to match that as closely as possible. Since this is an HP OEM chances are quite high you would readily be able to find a match to your stock RAM for cheap on the used market.

Keep in mind that sometimes when running mismatched sticks it can just not start at all, boot loop, or cause issues once loaded into OS.

I'm confused now because I only have a single stick, even though that webpage is 100% the exact desktop I bought. I think the website is mislabeled. Never added or taken anything out of this, its 100% stock.

I found my exact computer posted used on 2 websites and they both look just like mine with only 1 16gb ram stick and my windows setting clearly shows I have 16GB ram.

Is there something on the website (like motherboard or ram slot) that shows it can take 32gb? Would help solidifiy my guess that its mislabelled as having 2x 8gb ram

I am not computer savvy much and would rather just buy my exact ram stick so I don't have to worry.

Do you know how I can find the exact same RAM?

The website seems vague but I'm pretty sure its HyperX Fury 2666mhz 16GB single stick ram

Thanks everyone for the help. I think I have figured out my options to upgrade to 32gb from 16gb currently

I can get another DDR4-2400 16gb used stick for $30 (I found exact part number from CPU-Z) or fully replace and get two new DDR4-3200 16GB for $56

So my final questions is:

Is there gonna be such a difference between the two new DDR4-3200 sticks instead of buying another used DDR4-2400 that I should pay almost double?

The RAM runs 2666. You need another 2666 stick of RAM. No XMP RAM because the motherboard doesn't support it. You need RAM with a JEDEC 2666 profile.

There are two performance aspects of ram.
1) Do you have enough?
Adding more ram when you already have sufficient will make no difference in performance.
Look in task manager when you are actively using the pc.
Look at resource monitor/memory tab and the hard fault rate column. If you have a hard fault rate more than zero, adding ram might help.
Games, by themselves do well enough on 16gb. If you are concurrently multitasking, then adding ram can help.
2) Ram speed.
Dual channel operation improves processor effectiveness. I might guess perhaps up to 10%.
Faster ram does little for Intel processors. In checking ram for a poster, I discovered that I was running at stock.
I ran the cpu-z bench.
then, I implemented xmp and found a 2% improvement at ram speed 6000.
Really not much at all.

You can never have matched ram when adding ram.
There is always a risk that the new part does not play well with the old.
Not a great risk, most of the time you can make it work.
What is your plan B if you have a problem?
