would like some answers anout simlinks

can someone dumb it down and tell me what a simlink (system link) dose, its uses,and how to make them thanks.im using windows 8.1, also i dont know where to post this if its in tje wrong place tell me and i will move it

Well system link is for xbox so I don't think you're talking about that and I'm assuming this is related to you wanting to install on the sd card. Symbolic links are kind of like shortcuts. It links to another location. Yes they can be used to redirect onto removable media while it was originally installed internally. There's no interface to do this and needs to be done manually in cmd. So you just type: mklink /j C:\where_your_apps_are E:\or_whatever_letter_sdcard http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/278262-mklink-create-use-links-windows.html

im still having some trouble i dont know how to move c:\program files to my sd card and make a symlink for it.

When there is a space in the name, you need to use quotation marks. Is that the issue you're having? mklink /j "C:\Program Files" "E:\Program Files"

I did that and it says: cannot create file when file already exists?

Then the location already exists on the sd card and needs to be deleted. I don't know if you already moved any files but you might want to rename it then create the symlink and find out if the files are on C or the sd card.
