Today I was testing RAM slots when I accidentally dropped one of my two Kingston HyperX 4GB RAM from about 4 feet onto tiled floors. The only damage I can see if the gold strip at the base of the RAM (the part that goes into the motherboard) has a little scrape on it. I put the RAM back in and the system detects it. I also ran Memtest+86 for an hour (just to test) and I received no errors.
However I do notice that my framerates when I play games are SLIGHTLY less than before. Is this likely due to coincidence? Or due to the RAM?
Could dropping the RAM reduce performance or lifespan?
