Would my RAM be okay?

Heys guys,
Today I was testing RAM slots when I accidentally dropped one of my two Kingston HyperX 4GB RAM from about 4 feet onto tiled floors. The only damage I can see if the gold strip at the base of the RAM (the part that goes into the motherboard) has a little scrape on it. I put the RAM back in and the system detects it. I also ran Memtest+86 for an hour (just to test) and I received no errors.

However I do notice that my framerates when I play games are SLIGHTLY less than before. Is this likely due to coincidence? Or due to the RAM?

Could dropping the RAM reduce performance or lifespan?

Yes and no. It is hard to say... Post a picture.

It does not have any moving parts, so - if its working today, most likely it will work.

But, make sure it's not sticking over other part next to it and keep touching it. It may short the mobo and all other HW.

I would get rid of that one. Its cheaper to pay for 1 stick, than for new mobo and CPU.

That was only one side I saw, but it looks like it just chipped it off and the rest stayed where it supposed to be.

I think the other side is OK and this is the impact side.

Since nothing move inside and it does not have to be moved around,

it will out live the PC : ) Good luck!
