I'm very interested with getting the new GeForce GTX 1080 and I was trying to do some research and see if I could find the answer to my question. I was wondering if it would be compatible with the stuff I have now, would it bottleneck my pc, or would I have to upgrade more stuff along with it.
My current specs:
CPU: Intel i5-4690k overclocked
Ram: 8GB DDR3
Chipset: Intel Z97 Express
Current Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB

I concur with Relic.
I would however upgrade you DIMMs to a 16GB kit. Not absolutely necessary but on occasion you may run out.
I don't see bottlenecking being an issue. The processor is the oldest thing there and it's not that old. I wouldn't worry about anything. I bet the i5 never hits even 80% while you're gaming.
