Would this be a good upgrade for my current build?

I'm not wanting to play in ultra settings. At most medium or high, and my current build can not do that without dropping frames like crazy. My current build is.

Intel Core-i5 4440 CPU
Radeon R9 270 GPU
Corsair DDR3 8GB RAM
MSI H81M-P33 MOBO

I am wanting my upgrade to achieve two things, Play games better, and allow me later down the line to upgrade to better things more easily than this current system is. This is the build I am considering.

If i missed anything please let me know, and thank you for the help.

It really depends what games you play and what resolution. The Rx 480 and the 1060 are the 2 that really go head to head. The 470 is a good card you just can't expect miracles. I agree that the i3 6100 isn't really an upgrade over the i5 4440 it just gives you the advantage of being on a newer platform and also I may be off but I was assuming that the i5 4440 would be slightly below an i5 6400 and some posts on The forums here have been showing some benchmarks showing the i3 beating the i5 6400 in games.

Is the 1060 worth it? Or will the RX 470 get the job I want done for a lower price.

I went with the i3 so I could get DDR4 RAM and have a mobo ready for a better version of skylake. I thought thatd be better than sticking with the i5.
