Would this be a sufficient upgrade for recording?

At the moment I have a Pentium G4560, 8gb ram and an rx 460 2gb, and I can run Fortnite at 60 fps on low. I want to be able to record my gameplay, or at least have AMD instant replay on, but it brings my frames below 60, which makes it unplayable (for me). If I upgrade my CPU to an i5 7600 or an i3 8100 would I be able to play at 60 fps and record? Or would a gpu upgrade be beneficial?

In my honest opinion, yes. But even better would be Ryzen, more cores and threads. And then after go for the GPU. But the thing is if you go ryzen you gotta change your board aswell. So we should discuss budget aswell I guess.

No it wouldn't,the 10 series can record at 4k@60FPS without using much CPU.
I would (and have) activate QSV if your monitor has extra inputs just connect the mobo to one of them and windows will recognize the iGPU,then try OBS with the QSV feature it should be ok for 1080/60FPS.

Well I think I will go for the i5 8400. I have $400 AUD, and the i5 8400 and h310m-pro-vh will be $350 total. Same price for the 1600, only I have seen i5 get better performance.
I will then wait for a bit and get a 1060 6gb for ~$450
So basically my plan is to get the 8400 and 1060, but I am asking which one would be more beneficial (which one should I buy first?)
