Would you buy from an unrated seller on Amazon?

I'm just looking at a Samsung 32GB USB thumb drive. It's listed in Canada on Amazon.ca where we always get soaked on prices. There are several rated sellers, but there is one seller listed as New - Just Launched. It's a seller based in China. I've had no problems in the past with rated Chinese or Hong Kong sellers - it just takes a couple weeks longer for shipping to Canada than domestic or US sellers. The trade off of course is considerably lower prices and no additional 11.5% Canadian taxes. The Thumb drive is here and it's the top listing. As you can see, it's less than half of the next listed price.

Solution
I got bit by that once before. It was an unrated seller on amazon, the only one with the CPU cooler i wanted in the whole country. I purchased it through amazon, received the cooler, only to discover it had been "pre opened" and half the mounting parts removed. I contacted amazon and they told me they weren't responsible for 3rd party sales, and gave me the contact info for the 3rd party. I contacted the 3rd party and they wanted me to pay for shipping the part to them a 10% restock fee (meaning they meant to resell this part again and scam someone else) plus shipping to ship a replacement out. I told them to get bent, called the manufacturer, who sent me the replacement parts i needed without question, debate or argument.

don't...

don't buy from 3rd party sellers on amazon, it's just exposing you to trouble.

Thanks. I think I'll pass then

Actually it was $9 vs $22 - you must have been looking at the US site. Anyways I'm passing on it
