Hello TH,

I have recently built a new computer (Win10), and I am running into a weird FPS problem on World of Warcraft. When standing still in alliance garrison, I get from 50 - 80 FPS. Its mostly on 61- 63. This is with everything on Ultra with 100% render scale. I do not notice any difference when i set everything to High instead.

Core components:
CPU: Skylake i7 6700K @ 4.0GHz
RAM: DDR4 2133 MHz 16GB
GPU: GTX 1080 Sea Hawk X

This is my score on Unigine Valley Benchmark: http://imgur.com/a/Tr9P3

What could be wrong here?

Thanks in advance! :)

Solution
For some reason I was thinking the number was the max. :pfff: Lack of sleep and being at work, probably not a good combination. I haven't touched that setting, in a long time either. I do not even remember the render scale slider. Ok, check your temps, of your CPU and GPU. I would suggest shadows to a lower setting, lower view distance, and disable SSAO, just to see how it affects your performance. Make sure drivers and addons are up to date as well. I know some addons were causing FPS issues, since 7.0 was released.
Some things that may greatly help you. Turn view distance down to 7, turn shadows to low. I have found disabling SSAO also often helps with FPS. What resolution are you playing at? I know I had to turn those settings down, with a GTX 1070, running @1440p, for a friend's upgrade. He is still using a 3570k, but it isn't that far behind yours.

In my experience, view distance and shadows, can heavily affect FPS. Also make sure your addons are up to date. Some have caused performance issues, since 7.0 came out. I know mine tanked, so I had to disable them, until updates came out. Also, I just noticed your advanced tab settings. Move that foreground slider, to the right. It limits how much FPS you can get, regardless of how fast your hardware is.

But is there any point in moving it when I cant even hit 100 fps? Also, I thought it would be possible to run everything at max with the 1080... Super frustrated.

No problem man. :)

Seeing as my scores on multiple tests are around and over where they should be I dont think its the cards fault atleast.

I tested it without addons and I didnt see any difference... GPU and CPU temps are always between 30 - 50 while playing WoW. Setting lower shadow and view doesnt affect it much. Its really only a problem in alliance garrion though, so I might need to test it more. Thanks anyway! I will make a new post if it isnt resolved! :)
