I have an issue where my motherboard will reset its bios whenever I unplug my pc from power or turn off and turn back on the power supply with the switch on the back.
I can shut down my pc and restart just fine without having to reconfigure the bios, its just that whenever i completely turn off the power my next boot is with a reset bios.
This has been happening for quite a while and updating the bios and all the drivers didn't solve it. (Im currently on the latest bios and drivers).
Sometimes when this happens my windows corrupts (Im stuck at an infinite windows loading screen) and I have to do a system recovery.

This is a big issue for me because Im afraid that one day when it happens I wont be able to do a system recovery and loose all my files.

Thank you in advance.

I would RMA the motherboard you have for sure. That is if you still have warranty on it.

Also, never keep anything important on the windows boot disk, this is a hard lesson I learned long ago. Make it a habit to back up any files as soon as you're done with them.

@USAFRet is a bit of a specialist there, I'm pretty sure it's possible to create backup's of specific directories, on every PC shutdown onto a SEPARATE drive, perhaps an external one. Just in case.
I'm by no means a specialist, here.

If you are worried about the whole USB stick thing, an alternative method for getting your files, is to install the drive into another PC and manually get the files from it.

In the context of a new motherboard, do this clean install only when the drive is in that system. Don't install now, and try to move it later.
I just ordered the motherboard and i have to wait till tuesday.. i really need my pc functional by monday so if i just reinstall windows on that system drive right now, and use that and then when i get the new motherboard just reinstall windows on that drive (once its in the new motherboard) again. Will that be okay?

Yeah, if you want to go through the whole install and updates and application install, twice.
Assuming your current motherboard actually works.

That will work. I just really don't trust your motherboard though. xD
OOPS I just realised I do see the startup setting tab and I can enter it but after I click restart and see the settings that are supposed to allow me to boot into safe mode, my keyboard doesnt seem to work, the rgb lights up and I click f4 as well as trying to click 4 but it just doesnt do anything on that screen, even enter which it says is supposed to return me to the os just doesnt do anything. I also did some research and found out that the bluescreen error code im getting is caused by bad drivers. (im guessing maybe some driver corrupted as the motherboard was resetting its bios again)

Just wanted to give an update on the current situation, I have successfully managed to download windows and am currently writing this on my pc. Im scared to shut down or restart as i do have some work to do, everything is running stock and im planning to keep it that way until i get the new mobo. I wanted to thank you all for helping me as much as you did, I really appreciate it and i will update ya'll on whether the new mobo fixed the issue or not.

Please do, I admit I like helping people here, but sometimes I tend to worry too much on others behalf. xD
It's so much easier just building and working with PC's in person. :D
Im currently in process of rebuilding the pc and got another issue.. The crosshair viii Hero only has 1 usb 3 connector for the front panel and my case, o11 Dynamic XL requires 2 for all the usb ports on the front panel to work (it has 1 usb type c and 4 usb 3 connectors at the front, my other board had 2 usb 3 ports so I didnt have this issue) ... Is there some sort of an adapter that can help make so that I can plug in the second usb 3 connector?

I have just reinstalled windows along with all the apps, plugged in the harddrives etc and did everything step by step like on that guide USAFRet sent and it went really well, im up and running and also updated to the new bios no problem! I can now turn off my power supply and loose power with no worries, bios doesnt reset itself. Thanks for help I really appreciate it!

Hey Flame1 o/.

Hope all is well, you'll need something like this 3.1 int. header to 3.0.
Or a 2.0 internal header to 3.0(this will of course not give you the speed upgrade)
Can't use the 3.1 int. header to 3.0 if you're already using the 3.1(2) USB C header though.

Anytime! <3
Looks like im not gonna be able to use the bottom 2 usbs on the front of my case at full speed anyways :/ The usb 3.1 port is already occupied because of the commander pro, but I do have 2 usb 2.0 headers on the commander pro so ill use that adapter you sent, thank you .
